| Know
your skin type |
| |
| Your skin is the mirror of internal well being. It
reflects inner health condition. It gets its nutrition
from what we eat, what we think, what we do. Health
of your mind, body and soul defines the luster or lack
luster of your skin. |
|
|
| Ever wondered - why someone you know has the perfect
baby skin without much effort while yours do not respond
even to the costliest therapies? Why you have so many
small wrinkles on your skin while your friend whose
age is twice than yours has beautiful, soft skin? |
|
|
| That's so because everyone has different skin type
depending upon the characteristic constitution. One
should modify one's diet, exercise, lifestyle and supplements
according to one's constitution of these three humors.
According to Ayurveda there are main three skin types
according to three biological humors (doshas) - |
| 1. Vata skin |
2. Pitta skin |
3. Kapha skin |
|
|
|
| Vata skin : As vata is composed of
the elements space and air, this type of skin is dry,
thin with fine pores. Vata skin is fragile, cool and
has a glow of flimsy elegance. Such skin is prone to
wrinkles, cracks and needs to be moisturized in small
intervals. Winter season is greatest torment of this
type of skin. |
|
|
| Pitta skin: Pitta is composed of
the fire and water element, this type of skin is radiant,
warm to touch and when balanced has a ruddy glow and
sophistication. On the Flip side Pitta skin is very
sensitive to heat and prone to rashes, freckles and
acne. Pitta skin becomes highly sensitive in summer
season. |
|
|
| Kapha skin: Kapha is composed of
the elements earth and air so this type of skin is cool
to touch, lustrous, thick and oily. In state of imbalance
Kapha skin is prone to clogged pores, water retention
and fatty accumulation. |
